出版日期:2013/09/13
Since consumers were introduced to wireless protocols like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in consumer electronics (CE) devices at the beginning of the new century, they have increased expectations for the types and quality of the connectivity options for their devices, particularly mobile devices. The vast majority of CE devices shipping today are what MRG defines as “connectable” devices; they have the ability to connect directly to home networks and/or the Internet via wireless or wired means. The ability to deliver high quality, high definition video and audio streams across home area networks to devices using multiple formats and multiple screen sizes is crucial to the success of device manufacturers, content creators, and service providers.

This report contains 5-year worldwide forecasts of connectable device shipments across six regions and the US. Segmentation and analysis by region is included for digital televisions, Blu-Ray players, streaming media players, tablets, smartphones, notebooks, and video game consoles. Analysis and data are also provided on digital content delivery, regional demographics, and usage of connectable devices within homes.
